14 Must Have Accessories for Every Writer!

By Ravi Taneja (Co-founder & Partner Succor Trendz)

A writer’s life is quite different from other professions. In general, they are quiet beings and spend hours writing and thinking. Even when they are not at the desk writing, their mind keeps wandering. Most of the writers are disciplined and organized and stationery freaks, though some may not. To make a writer’s life easier, we have completed a list of a few accessories every writer must own. These could also become a gift for your writer friend(s).

Accessories every writer must have:

  1. Aquanotes: We said earlier that a writer’s mind keeps wandering, and the thinking process never stops. However, ideas have a habit of popping up at the wrong time. Some of the best ideas come while bathing and the urgency to make notes, but soap all over the body is scary. Aquanotes are waterproof paper and can be used in the shower, and the water flows right through it without affecting the notes. Also, it comes with a suction holder to place the aquanotes and a pencil on the bathroom wall.
  1. White Board: A whiteboard with a marker and a duster is a must-have for writers. They keep writing and rewriting points and paper; thus, having a whiteboard saves the hassle of maintaining bundles of paper. Combination boards are also available at some places wherein you get a combination of a pinboard and a whiteboard on a single board.
  1. A collection of Color Pens: Now, writing is one thing, and to a writer, using colors is entirely different. Some lines are more important; some are there until you review; some stay on the paper so that you don’t lose a point. If you are a writer, you know what we are saying. Therefore, writing with different colors makes the task simpler, and it adds to the fun.
  1. Pouches: You have a beautiful collection of pens and pencils, so you also need a pouch to organize them. The leather pouches make a great addition to the writer’s accessories. You can’t let those pretty pens lie anywhere just like that, right? So, go ahead and get one for yourself. A roll wrap bag pouch or the one with a zipper, the choice is yours. You can buy one made of 100% genuine leather from Succor Trendz.
  1. Bookshelf: One of the most prominent issues writers face is the lack of space to store books. They are avid readers and have a vast collection, and the pile keeps on growing. That is why a bookshelf(s) is a massive necessity for writers to store and keep the books organized.
  1. A Collection of Stationery: It’s not a secret that writers are stationery enthusiasts and are probably the ones to enter a stationery-stop first and exit last. Notebooks, sticky notes, pens, pencils, markers, highlighters, bookmarks, washi tapes, magnets, and many more are lifelines.
  1. Journals: A writer’s writings are not limited to commercial writing. Apart from that, they write for themselves. One way of doing so is to keep a journal. Journaling all the ups and downs gives peace and the time to reflect on the inner self. Additionally, a leather journal leather journal adds to the beautiful collection of a writer.
If you want to start journaling, here are the tips for beginners: 10 tips for Beginners to Keep a Journal.
  1. Digital Voice Recorder It is something every writer must carry with them wherever they go. We have already talked about how ideas can pop up at any time. They are not always at a place where they can take out a diary and start writing, or even if they could, it is not always just a few-liners idea that will take only a minute or two to write. A digital voice recorder comes in handy when you have to record an interview or a conversation or store an idea without writing.
  1. A Pocket Diary: Some might argue that when there is a notepad on mobile phones, what is the use of carrying a pocket diary? Well, the most significant benefit of writing in a diary is that it doesn’t have a backspace key. Additionally, scribbling enables the creative juices to flow.
  1. Plants: A quiet space and a peaceful environment are necessary for all writers. They have places they go to write. Adding a few indoor plants (if there are none) may create that environment for them. Oxygen level increases and toxins reduce when enough plants are around, and the mind is relaxed.
  1. A Keyboard Cover: Writers spend hours typing on the keyboard, and a keyboard cover works as a protection for it. You would not want crumbs, spilled liquids, or even dust to destroy or reduce the life of the device. A good keyboard cover does that for you.
  1. Kindle: Reading paper books is the best! But we can’t deny that Kindle comes in handy. Moreover, it solves the issue of storage space, and e-books are economical compared to paperbacks or hardcovers.
  1. Passport Holder: If you or your friend is a travel writer, a genuine leather passport & credit card holder from a luxury leather brand such as Succor Trendz would be an excellent addition to the collection. It has space to hold six cards along with the passport and has RFID protection.

  1. Planner: Being organized with the work and planning in advance is necessary to maintain balance. Planners help in doing it effortlessly. It gives an organized personal space to write down tasks and plan for them. It also helps keep track of habits and encourages them to take the proper steps. Not only writers, in fact, but planners are beneficial for all.

There is so much more to add to the list. We can keep writing, but the list will not end anytime soon. If you were struggling to find a gift for a writer friend, you must have gotten pleasing ideas. To add another point to the list, leather accessories also make an incredible gift.
